Step up and walk with the AACI team to support our HIV program and the fight against HIV/AIDS at the 2009 Walk for AIDS Silicon Valley!
The walk will take place Sunday, October 18th from 10am – 12pm in San Jose.
It’s FREE to walk, but please help us raise money if you can! Every dollar counts.
We are walking to raise funds for AACI’s HIV program, one of only two non-clinical HIV testing sites in the county and the only program targeting the Asian American community. With the current state budget elimination of HIV education/prevention funding, the program needs support now more than ever.
TO REGISTER:
1. Sign up at our AACI team website: http://tiny.cc/AACI_AIDSwalk
2. Choose Asian Americans for Community Involvement under AGENCY DESIGNATION (100% of the funds you raise will be donated directly to the AACI HIV Program. If AACI is not designated, funds will be divided among the nine benefitting agencies.)
REGISTRATION IS FREE! THE FIRST 50 ONLINE REGISTERED WALKERS WILL RECEIVE A FREE API AIDS AWARENESS T-SHIRT.
If you have any questions or would like more details, please contact:
Mark Molina at 408.975.2730 x 183 or Sedora Tantraphol at 408.975.2730 x 114.
Please see our flyer! Please invite friends & family to walk with you and thank you for your support!

join AACI’s Domestic Violence Program, Asian Women’s Home, on Friday, October 17, 2008 for the City of San José’s 11th Annual Walk to End Domestic Violence, presented by Mayor Chuck Reed, Council Members Nora Campos and Forrest Williams, and the City’s Family/Domestic Violence Advisory Board. Through this effort we hope to raise awareness about domestic violence and encourage everyone to get involved in preventing it. This year’s event will take place at San José’ City Hall on 200 E. Santa Clara Street and will feature guest speakers, Brian Copeland (author, radio talk show host, comedian, and playwright) and his sister, Tracie Stafford (small business owner, Governor’s Appointee, and a survivor of domestic violence). The program/victim’s tribute will be followed by a short walk procession and community lunch and resource fair.
The order of events at this event is as follows:
Registration 10:30- 11:00 a.m.
Program 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Walk 12:00- 12:30 p.m.
Community Lunch/Resource Fair 12:30- 1:30 p.m.
There is no cost to participate. If you would like to attend the community lunch, please register in the morning to receive your lunch ticket.
Last year, we had over 20 AACI staff members participate in the Walk. We will again have free Asian Women’s Home t-shirts for all AACI staff members who choose to participate in this year’s Walk. Attached are photos of the Asian Women’s Home t-shirt – same ash grey color t-shirt and design as previous years!
If this will be your first Walk with us, please send your t-shirt request indicating preferred t-shirt size to alice.saelee@aaci.org by 4:00 PM on Thursday, September 25, 2008. Please note that these are Men’s t-shirts which are only available in sizes S, M, L, XL, and XXL. We will distribute t-shirts on October 13, 2008 after the AACI staff meeting.
